I was left on a vast land with many people, maybe if I had to guess, it’s probably a thousand people. I also know some faces, some of my friends were there. It was not a reunion. It was as if we were put there. We were confused and disoriented. The land was a dystopian; wreckage everywhere, trees overgrown wherever possible, and the air is thick. The land is hostile. The land is eerie. The land seems endless, yet everyone feels trapped. On this land everyone is either chased down by a bear which has the strength of 1,000,000 men, or a cult with 1,000,000 members. The bear is much bigger than a normal one (as expected from a bear with the strength of 1,000,000 men). I saw it smacked down a red wood tree with one hit. As for the cult, they are on radio everyday talking about the hunt (hunting us). They broadcast the hunt as if it is a daily ritual. Everyone that is put on this land lives in constant fear. They have to watch out for both the 1,000,000 cultists, or the foul beast. Their lives depend on caution, so does mine. To elaborate on the bear, It is unlike anything you have ever seen. It is not only godly strong, it is violent. It is fast. It is unpredictable. The way it moves is erratic. You could only pray and run or hide if you are close enough to get a sight of it. The bear was black. It has no visible scars (might mean it is invincible). It stands at least 10 stories tall. When you see the bear, what you feel is pure terror. The cultists, on the other hand, they are scattered throughout. They could also be present already among the people, pretending, acting, waiting for the right moment to strike. To differentiate a cultist from a normal person, however, is not too difficult. They seem human, but they are not. Their eyes lack the emotion. Their smiles are unnatural. They have uncanny likeness to us, but it is noticeable that something is off. Their demeanor, the way they talk, the way they behave, all is like they are not alive. Nevertheless, they try their best to be normal, to trick us. So when you see someone new, you never know if he or she is actually a cultist or not. In the dream, it felt as if I was conscious only since the middle of it. I saw the bear at first. I was with my friends, I suggested running away, and did that without hesitation. The violence the bear showed was too much to see. We noticed it from the hill so far away, but know the distance means nothing and that the lives of ours were in danger. I ran away from the bear and after what felt like eternity of running anxiously, I fell. I was on a mountain side without realizing. Of course, that’s why I fell. Luckily, I was able to grab onto overgrown plants on the side of what seemed like an old 6-7 story yellow building. It was dirty; the smell was foul, but at least I didn’t fall to my death. I was alone at this point. Just right after I grabbed onto the overgrown plants, I heard people talking. Just then I realized the building belonged to the cult. It was time for the hunt. And it seemed I stumbled upon the place where broadcasted the radio signal from. I knew because I was not hearing a radio. I heard the actual voice of a couple of men. They were discussing how to go about cutting up the people they would catch today. I was holding to the plants for my dear life. My body was exhausted from running away from the bear, and my fingers became weak from the knowledge of where I ended up. I held on for a little longer before I heard a man coming. He saw me. He didn’t seem like a cultist. He was wearing blue coveralls, supposedly a uniform of a janitor of some sort. He started to walk closer to me but with just one smile I realized I was in trouble. I heard another voice shouting from behind me “jump”, to tell me to escape. At that point I had no strength left in me. My fingers gave up. I started to let go, to fall, but I was decided. I was not going to die because of the bear, or be taken my the cult. My fate was my own to decide. I fell but with a relief. It ended mid-air. I didn’t hit the ground. I was awake while still feeling the thick air hitting me on the back of my neck.
This dream is rich with imagery and powerful emotions, reflecting complex feelings about fear, survival, and the unknown. Here’s a breakdown of the symbols and themes present in your dream:
Vast and Hostile Land: The vast land represents feelings of being overwhelmed or lost in life. The wreckage and overgrown trees may symbolize unresolved issues or chaotic aspects of your life that you feel you have no control over.
Confusion and Disorientation: Being in a place where you feel confused indicates a state of uncertainty in your waking life. You may be grappling with a situation that feels overwhelming, and this confusion extends to your relationships with friends as well.
The Bear: This monstrous bear can symbolize an overwhelming force or challenge in your life, which might be external (like work pressures, societal expectations) or internal (fears or insecurities). Its size and strength suggest a problem that feels insurmountable, while the fear it invokes reflects anxiety towards confronting these challenges.
The Cult: This group represents paranoia or mistrust, possibly relating to your interactions with others. The cultists, with their unnatural demeanor, could symbolize people in your life whom you feel are not genuine or who threaten your sense of safety. They can also represent conformity and the fear of losing individuality or succumbing to collective pressures.
Running and Falling: Your instinct to run away shows a desire to escape from your fears or difficult situations. Falling signifies a loss of control, but grabbing onto the overgrown plants highlights your will to hold on amidst chaos and uncertainty.
The Building: The building belonging to the cult may represent a place where you feel trapped, whether literally or metaphorically. Hearing the cultists’ plans reveals the stakes of your situation and an imminent danger, signaling a palpable fear of being overwhelmed or caught.
Final Act of Letting Go: The moment you decided to let go, even as you fall, speaks to a desire for liberation. This can indicate a decision to stop struggling against something you cannot control, thus regaining your agency. The relief you felt suggests that sometimes release or acceptance can feel like a form of empowerment.
Awakening Mid-Air: Waking up while still in freefall can symbolize a transition. It suggests that while you may not have all the answers or feel stable, you are moving towards a new awareness or understanding of your situation.
Overall, your dream reflects themes of fear, survival, trust, and the struggle for autonomy in the face of immense pressure. It could be beneficial to evaluate any anxieties or overwhelming situations in your life that resonate with the symbols in your dream and consider ways to address them constructively.
